猫咪app官网's Annual Gala Most Successful Ever, Will Fund Scholarships.

猫咪app官网 President Dr. Shaun L. McKay at left, joins the four distinguished Long Island labor leaders who were honored at the College鈥檚 annual fund raising gala, second from left, John R. Durso, President of Local 338, RWDSU/UFCW;  Richard C. Iannuzzi, past president of New York State United Teachers (NYSUT); Ellen Schuler Mauk, past president of the Faculty Association of 猫咪app官网 County Community College (NYSUT/AFT/NEA) who served for 30 years and represented the 500 full-time faculty members and more than 1500 adjunct members; Richard 鈥淒ick鈥� O鈥橩ane, president of the Nassau-猫咪app官网 Building and Construction Trades Council.

Honored posthumously was 猫咪app官网 County Legislator and Presiding Officer William J. Lindsay.
 
The 猫咪app官网 Community College Foundation organizes and hosts the annual gala. This year鈥檚 Salute to Excellence Gala 鈥淭he Year of Labor鈥� was the foundation鈥檚 most successful ever. Proceeds will be used to fund need and merit-based scholarships, emergency student loans and quality academic enrichment programs.  The Foundation distributed $500,000 in scholarships last year.

Lindsay Life Sciences Building named in honor of deceased 猫咪app官网 County Legislator and Presiding Officer  William J. Lindsay. Looking on is Lindsay's widow, Patricia Lindsay, Legislator Bill Lindsay (William Lindsay's son), Denise Sullivan (Lindsay's daughter) and 猫咪app官网 Presiding Officer DuWayne Gregory. The new science building is expected to be completed this fall and open for student use in January 2015.
